How We Get Paid

The question everyone quietly wonders, answered plainly. No fee, no fine print, no angle.

THE SHORT VERSION

We're paid by carriers. Not by you.

You never pay Podium anything — not a fee, not a subscription, not a cent out of pocket. We're paid by the insurance carrier, and only if you choose to switch through us. It's the same model a fee-free mortgage broker runs on. If you don't switch, you owe us nothing, and your comparison is yours to keep either way.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOUR PRICE

Built into the rate, not added to it

Two things worth knowing before you take our word for any of this.

You don't pay extra to use a broker

Carriers set and file their own rates. The commission a carrier pays us comes out of that rate structure — it isn't a surcharge tacked onto your bill for going through Podium instead of the carrier directly. You pay the same filed price either way.

No single carrier can count on us

We get paid the same basic way regardless of which major carrier you land with. Because no one company owns our loyalty, we have no financial reason to steer you toward one over another — except finding you the best price for your exact profile.

THE RANKED PODIUM

Why we show all three — even the one that pays us less

Ranked by your price, not our payout

When your results come back, we show you 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place — full pricing and coverage detail for every one of them, not just our top pick. Sometimes the carrier that wins for you pays us a smaller commission than the runner-up would have.

That's the point, not an exception

We show it to you anyway, ranked by what's actually best for your price and coverage. The moment we start hiding the cheaper option to protect our own payout, we've stopped being a broker you can trust — and trust is the entire product.

THE STANDING PROMISE

If your current policy already wins, we say so

This is the promise a lot of comparison sites can't make honestly, because their business depends on you switching. Ours doesn't.

If we run your profile against the major carriers and your current policy is still the best deal, we tell you exactly that — no charge, no obligation, and no follow-up call trying to talk you into switching anyway. Knowing you're not overpaying is valuable on its own, even when the honest answer is that you're already winning. And because we re-check your rate at every renewal, that answer doesn't just sit there and go stale.

STILL SKEPTICAL?

Fair questions, honest answers

Do I ever pay Podium directly?

No. There's no fee, no subscription, and no charge for your comparison, whether you switch carriers or not. We're paid by the carrier only if you choose to switch through Podium, similar to how a fee-free mortgage broker works.

Does using a broker make my insurance more expensive?

No. The commission a carrier pays a broker is part of the rate the carrier already filed and priced, not an extra charge added on top for using Podium. You pay the same filed rate you'd pay going directly to that carrier.

Why would you show me a carrier that pays you less?

Because the alternative — only showing you the option that pays us the most — is exactly the kind of hidden incentive Podium was built to get rid of. We rank every result by what's actually best for your price and coverage, then show you all three, full stop.

What if my current policy is already the best deal?

Then we tell you that. No charge, no obligation, and no follow-up call trying to talk you into switching anyway. Knowing you're not overpaying is valuable on its own, even when the honest answer is that you're already winning.
