What is umbrella insurance?

Umbrella insurance provides extra liability coverage beyond your auto and home policy limits. It kicks in when your standard coverage is exhausted. For a family, it’s especially valuable — a $1M umbrella policy typically costs $200–400 per year and protects against catastrophic scenarios.

Should I increase my coverage limits?

We strongly recommend it. Massachusetts minimum liability is $20k/$40k — that’s the cost of a fender bender, not a serious accident. With a family depending on you, we recommend at least $100k/$300k. Podium shows you the cost difference so you can decide what’s right.

Will upgrading coverage make my premium go up a lot?
