Insurance Basics

How You Ask for Insurance Changes the Price You Get

Walk into a bank asking for a loan in a sharp suit. Then walk in wearing a wrinkled t-shirt. Same person, same income, same credit—but you'll get a different reception, and maybe a different offer.

Insurance works the same way. The door you walk through changes the price.

The channel is a pricing factor

Most people assume a company has one price for you, and however you reach them, that's the number. Not true. Quoting online, calling an agent, or buying through a salesperson can each produce a different price for the exact same coverage.

Why? Because each path costs the company a different amount, carries a different mix of risk, and attracts a different kind of customer. So they price the channel, not just the person. The doorway isn't neutral. It's part of the math.

You shouldn't get penalized for your door

Here's the frustrating part: you have no way of knowing whether the door you picked is the cheap one or the expensive one. You just walk in and take what you're handed.

That's the penalty we exist to remove. We know which channels tend to price which companies best, and we walk you through the right one—so you're never quietly paying more just because of how you happened to ask.

Same you. Same coverage. The only thing we change is the door.

And once we're through it, we put every carrier in the room and let them compete — so the one that prices you best is the one that wins.
